Hailemariam Dessalegn’s resignation from his post both as the Prime Minster of Ethiopia and chairman of the ruling Ethiopian Peoples’ Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) gained mixed acceptance from the public. Some appreciated it and others questioned its timing. But, the coming to power of his successor Abiy Ahmed (PhD) brought about “wind of change,” in the words of Hailemariam, who was honored and officially given a warm farewell at the National Palace.
